4 Films That Made Headlines

1.    30 DAYS IN ATLANTA
30 Days in Atlanta was premiered in Ghana on January 30. Of this film it has been said; seven weeks after it premiered on October 31st in Lagos Nigeria, the film grossed 76million Nigerian naira and by January 7, 2015 it has grossed 127 million Nigeria naira.

Credence, the source of this statistics I have no idea. But as reported the film is being distributed by the leading film distribution company in Africa -Silverbird Film Distribution Limited.

Furthermore credence, I never knew Silverbird had a film distribution arm let alone leading on the continent. Am guessing hard to tell a Ghanaian film I know of which has been distributed by Silverbird Film Distribution, maybe you can help me out.

2.   LAST WORD
This film starring Bismark the Joke and Kwaku Menu is soon to be premiered in Ghana and across the continent. The remarkable thing about this film is more on the company that made it Abbeam Productions with offices in Ghana and UK. It maiden film won for, Bismark the Joke, two awards at last year’s Ghana Movie Awards.

3.   LETTER FROM ADAM
The film has been accepted for screening at Pan African Film Festival. It is a Ghanaian romantic drama directed by Atlanta-based Ghanaian director Sam Kessie and produced and written by Lydia Forson, will be among the world standard black films to be screened.
Lydia is not alone in the Pan African Film Festival soup; there is another Ghanaian dancing among the waves.

4.   DIARY OF IMOGEN BROWN
Diary of Imogene Brown premiered in Accra in December 2013, as well as in Takoradi and Kumasi.

The film came from the finger tips of Nadia Buari; she also a candidate at this year Pan African Film Festival.
PAFF is scheduled to take place at the All-digital Rave Cinemas 15 Baldwin Hills Crenshaw Plaza in Los Angeles from February 5 to February 16.

GFI wish and hope them flying colour at the event and hopefully when they land in Ghana we can borrow their colourful wings for other purposes, Sharparrows smiling and sign out, take care.
