Homesman (2014)
directed by Tommy Lee Jones partly contributing to the writing. Miss Mary Bee Cuddy played by Hilary Shwank-
Homesman is my first movie am seeing of her.
Mary Bee or
Miss Cuddy as she is often called in the film was to escort three mentally
unstable women from Nebraska and Iowa. She was hard working self made but
without a husband as men think of her as bossy. She was very kind hearted.
Pathos of Miss
Cuddy from the film was when she committed suicide on their way for being at 31
without a husband although she possessed so much; leaving George (Tommy Lee
Jones) to finish the journey with the girls.
On the death of
Miss Cuddy, George decided to abandon the girls and going his own way. Just
when he though he was gone, the girls followed- the girls unsupportive and
hitting each other previously- this time were supporting each other. He
couldn’t help it than turning back to assist.
George took the
girls to Iowa as he made that promise to Miss Cuddy when she saved his life
from getting hanged. But George Bricks (Tommy Lee Jones) learned something far
more important too- the generous ways of Mary Bee Cuddy.
In the end the young lady
asked George who was Mary Bee Cuddy? “She is the finest women that ever walked”
was his answer.
